Thinking outside the box; creative innovation within the NACCOM Network AM
Facilitator: Paul Catterall, Network Development Worker with NACCOM Content: This workshop will explore some of the innovative approaches, including cross subsidy, being used by NACCOM members to be provide accommodation to those seeking asylum and other migrants left with no recourse to public funds (NRPF); and show how the provision of property by Housing Associations to support this work would help meet Homes for Cathy commitment Number 8 “To contribute to ending migrant homelessness”. Contributors: • Caron Boulghassoul CEO at Nottingham Arimathea Trust • Toni Soni Centre Director at Coventry Refugee & Migrant Centre • Julian Prior CEO at Newcastle based Action Foundation and also chair of the NACCOM board • Maria Iglesias Head of Housing and Service Development, Praxis Community Projects It makes perfect sense…and it fits with our ethos and charitable good AM
Facilitated by Chris Hancock, Head of Best Practice at Crisis This workshop will explore examples of how Housing Associations have taken the initiative and set up projects where properties have been made available to provide homes to; special groups such as LGBT migrants; or migrants judged to have No Recourse to Public Funding (NRPF) while they are supported to resolve their immigration status; or for people whose destitution is more acute because of their status in the UK. Contributors: • Michael Newey CEO at Broadland Housing Group • Dominic Briant Head of Community Investment • Ann Gibbons Executive Director for Customer Services at Metropolitan Thames Valley Partnership working between NACCOM Members and Housing Associations that contribute to ending migrant homelessness AM
Facilitator: Hazel Williams National Director NACCOM This workshop will explore what is already happening and what could happen through stock provision/management and closer collaboration and joint working. Contributors: • Phil Davis CEO of Hope Projects • Andrew Lawton Integration Manager, Refugee Council • Chloe Morgan Integration Project manager, Refugee Council • John Delahunty CEO Innisfree Housing Association • Mark Ainsworth Housing Manager Boaz Trust
