How we can help you at Crisis Skylight Edinburgh

If you are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, we can help you.

To us, homeless means sleeping on the streets or living in a hostel, shelter or refuge. It also means living in a B&B or other temporary accommodation.  And it can also mean living in supported housing because you have been homeless, sofa surfing, or living with friends/family as you have nowhere else to go.

Get Help

Duty offer 10-12 1-3.30 Monday – Friday in person appointments for information, advice and guidance if you are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Or call 0131 209 7700 between 10-4pm.

Becoming a member of our service

We offer a coaching model designed to empower our members to end their homelessness through confidence and capacity building. Our coaches will work to ensure a holistic service is offered to members including access to wellbeing, skills and training, preparation for the workplace, community connection and skills around sustaining a tenancy.

Help to Rent

Crisis are commissioned by City of Edinburgh Council to help people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to access the private rental sector. We do this by working with private landlords and letting agents and offering a deposit bond instead of a cash deposit. If you are interested in this service, please contact your Housing Officer at City of Edinburgh Council.

What we offer

We offer free practical and creative workshops, individual advice and guidance sessions in local hostels, day centres and libraries.

Many of our classes can lead to qualifications. All of our activities are run by qualified tutors. Take a look at the timetable.

  • Music, drama and creative classes where you can meet people and explore new things you might enjoy.
  • Training and education, so that you can gain new qualifications and feel more ready for work.
  • Advice and support to help you plan for your future.
  • Contact with other organisations that can put a roof over your head, support you with issues including addiction, and give help with further education and volunteering.
