We love volunteers

“Volunteering at Crisis is the highlight of my week, every week. I get to support a cause that’s important to me alongside the loveliest team of shop managers and local volunteers. It’s empowered me to make an impact in the journey to end homelessness and it’s brought me new friendships and skills along the way.” Mary, volunteer at Shop from Crisis Islington

Our shops rely on volunteers to help run them every day. Would you like to learn something new, develop your skills, and be part of a diverse and vibrant team?

Find your local shops and browse our current opportunities.

Right now, thousands of people who need support to move on from homelessness are being housed in unsafe, squalid homes by rogue housing providers who are profiting without supplying the help they’re supposed to give. Instead of being the safe home we all need, this housing is making people's lives even worse. In some cases, it's damaging not only their mental but their physical health. Many are effectively trapped, with no alternative but living on the street if they want to leave. But nothing illegal is happening, their landlords are simply exploiting a poorly regulated system for profit with no thought for the wellbeing of their tenants. We know there are also plenty of ethical organisations providing exempt accommodation that does what it's supposed to do - help people get back on their feet. But the number of unscrupulous providers is growing. That's why we're campaigning to #RegulateTheRogues and drive them out of this business. Bring on the 💗🏝 finale !!
