You don't have to join a special event to fundraise. Each year thousands of amazing supporters hold their own fundraising events and make our work possible, and we'd like you to be one of them.
There are so many ways that you can fundraise to suit you, and encourage friends and family to dig deep to help end homelessness.
Fundraising ideas
Here's a few ideas to get you started:
Bake off - nominate a judge then challenge your friends and family to bake. The goods can be sold for a donation to Crisis.
Gaming and livestreaming - Charity gaming events are a great way for you to have fun and raise some money at the same time. Find out more about our livestreaming for Crisis or start gaming for good on Justgiving or Tiltify.
Music - Whether you're a bedroom singer songwriter, a top DJ or a classical music duo, you can use your music to bring people together and raise funds for Crisis.
Dine off - reach new gastronomic heights and channel your competitive side by organising your own dine-off. Take turns hosting dinner parties and ask your friends to donate the value of the meal.
Film night - a great event for people of all ages. Choose a film to show in your home and charge people to come and watch it. You can even sell snacks and drinks to boost your fundraising total.
Give something up - get sponsored to go without something you can't live without!
Holding a collection - small change really does make a big difference!
Holding a collection is a simple and effective way to raise funds. You could organise a stand-alone collection or, if you’re already planning an event, why not add a collection to boost your fundraising total?
Please make sure you read our legal guidance on holding a collection.
Sell a skill - we know our fundraisers are an extremely talented bunch. Are you talented in arts, crafts, music, languages or anything else? Offer your friends a masterclass in it in exchange for a donation to Crisis.
Raise funds as you shop - You can raise funds for Crisis as you shop at hundreds of popular retailers, at no extra cost to you. Find out more about fundraising as you shop
Our sleep-out policy
We do not encourage using 'sleep-outs' as a way of fundraising. Sleeping on the street is incredibly dangerous and potentially fatal. Research shows rough sleepers are 13 times more likely to be a victim of violence, and bad weather can have a serious effect on health and wellbeing. The average age of death for homeless people is just 47.
In addition Crisis does not feel that it is appropriate for individuals or groups to fundraise or raise awareness by undertaking an activity which mimics the real experiences of people who are homeless. Whilst we appreciate all support, there are many other ways to fundraise to end homelessness.
Let us know
Whatever you are doing, we really appreciate it. Your fundraising is going to help end homelessness, so we'd love to hear about it.
