We currently operate direct services in 11 locations across England, Scotland and Wales, working directly with thousands of people experiencing homelessness every year.
But with 236,000 people currently experiencing the worst forms of homelessness, we know that our work to end homelessness must go further than that. And that’s why we need people like you to ensure that our impact is felt on a local level. So how can you help?
We’re looking for enthusiastic, creative and organised people to mobilise their networks and set up their own Crisis group. This might involve going to talk about our work in the community, bringing together local decision makers or even running a virtual quiz.
It’s up to you how much time you are able to commit and the activities you’d like to get involved with.
We’ll support you with the advice, skills and tools to help you fundraise and spread the word. You’ll learn more about how you’re helping to end homelessness for people in your local area and across the UK, and you’ll have the opportunity to grow your skills and inspire others to support us.
If you’d like to find out more about setting up your own Crisis group, please contact us via fundraise@crisis.org.uk
While physical events might be off for now, there are still lots of ways that you can support Crisis and raise vital funds. It’s completely up to you as to what you’d like to take part in, whether that’s a sponsored silence, step challenge or virtual bake-off! Check out our fundraising pages to get inspiration and order materials such as collection tins, t-shirts and fundraising packs.
One icy Crisis challenge coming up this winter is our DIY Icebreaker. Get sponsored by your family and friends to face the freeze. Find a pool, a pond, the sea, a bathtub of ice, a cold shower, whatever takes your fancy, and immerse yourself once, once a week, for a whole month...the choice is yours!
If you’re based in Oxford or Bristol, look out for some live jump-ins in your area! Email Chloe for more information.
Join our Home For All Campaign. In a just society, everybody should have a safe and stable home. Achieving this is necessary, now more than ever.
Governments have taken bold action in response to the pandemic to house thousands in temporary accommodation and prevent people losing their homes. This has undoubtedly saved lives.
As a society we must build on the tangible progress made, by helping everyone move on into a secure and permanent home; or we risk seeing thousands of people returning to the streets or to uncertain, unstable and sometimes dangerous living situations.
That's why together we must make our voices heard and ask those in power to take action now. Join us as a campaigner to find out the latest updates and how you can get involved.
You have the power to be part of the end of homelessness by sharing our message far and wide.
Talk to your friends, family and colleagues about homelessness. We can provide presentations and resources to help you feel confident talking to different audiences about Crisis. If you’re planning to do a talk on Crisis in your local area, let us know the details and how we can best support you.
Follow us on social media to keep up to date with our work and share updates to your own networks, including via Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.
