Homelessness is not inevitable. With collective action and political will, we can end it once and for all.
In 21st century Britain, everybody should have a place to live.
People lose their homes for a variety of reasons. Rising pressure from high rents and low pay, or a sudden life event like losing a job or family breakdown, can quickly force people into homelessness. But it doesn’t need to be like this.
We can end homelessness for good. This doesn’t mean that no-one will ever lose their home again, but that everyone facing homelessness gets the help they need quickly.
We’ve published a plan showing the solutions that can end homelessness in Britain, including how long it will take and how much it will cost.

Homelessness is devastating, dangerous and isolating.
Homelessness has social causes, including a lack of affordable housing, poverty and unemployment. Against this backdrop, lots of different life events and circumstances can be the trigger for an individual to become homeless.
In many parts of the UK, homelessness is rising.

We need to get Everybody In to end homelessness. Are you in?
To end homelessness, we need to understand and change the factors which cause it and make it worse. Issues such as the availability of affordable housing, legislation and the benefits system are part of this.
Our work with individuals drives our work to influence government, local authorities and housing providers' policy and practice to end homelessness.
We break down the barriers homeless people face when finding a rented home.
We support social landlords (including local authorities, housing associations and established Help to Rent projects) to develop services which work.
Our Renting Ready training helps prospective tenants learn about budgeting and bills, finding flatmates or DIY.
We could not do our work without the support and commitment of volunteers throughout the year across the UK.
We campaign on a local and national level to change policy and practice. Together we can end homelessness.
